Gay Cop Charged With Second-Degree Domestic Assault Against His Boyfriend

A St. Louis police officer was charged with domestic assault and resisting arrest after he assaulted his relatively new boyfriend, police told the Post-Dispatch.

Matthew Schanz, 26, had been on the force for three years, but after being charged today with two counts of second-degree domestic assault and a single count of resisting arrest, he has been suspended.
Schanz was off-duty when he allegedly argued with the victim, 25, before returning to their home together.
